I can say that Buutan has my favorite lattes in the world hands down. I’m an American who lives in Japan with a lot of travel experience around North America and Asia. What’s unique about Buutan’s lattes that is that in addition to the several delicious options to choose from, you can also customize your beans. At the moment they are pick-up only, but the food is still amazing so I’m including pictures from March. I brought one of my professors who doesn’t normally eat vegan here and she was so deeply impressed by not just the taste but even the care they put into the dish. I’m technically not vegan either, and my image is that it might be a little difficult for vegan businesses in the Philippines, but good food is good food. I cannot recommend Buutan highly enough.

So good!!! I’m a vegetarian and was so excited to hear about this place. My friend and I tried the spam and tofu scramble sandwich, iced americano, and lemon bread. 10/10. The seating area is a bit small but cozy, and fine for a quick brunch with friends or doing some work on your laptop. I also love that they have different coffee bean options for their machine. Can’t wait to go back!

I had an amazing experience at Buutan in Tacloban City. The food was incredibly delicious, with every dish packed with flavor. The staff was warm and accommodating, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. We also enjoyed some refreshing drinks, and the ice cream was the perfect sweet finish. Best of all, everything was reasonably priced. Highly recommend this vegan gem!

I like the health benefits of vegan food. Definitely yummy and I enjoyed the food and coffee at affordable prices. I will refer to friends and family. The shop name is the best! You can be proud saying and sharing it because it speaks of our identity as people of Winaray speaking Tacloban. And yes.. Buùtan is compassion and veggies. Utan is the best! :) I am Buùtan! You can also be one. Don't miss this when in Tacloban.

Discovered this gem during my work trip. After months of being on the road and making do with Vitamilk double choco , I’ve been really fantasizing about having (vegan) iced coffee to beat the summer heat. Buutan made that dream come true and more! I had Cafe con Leche with delicious Sagada Dark beans, ice cream, bbq rice meal, got a couple of canned goods to bring with me to my work in a nearby province, and had a nourishing almost 7-hour conversation with not just my friend whom I’ve met here, but also with Buutan’s owner and staff! Definitely a highlight of my trip. My go-to place in Eastern Visayas. Tacloban is so lucky to have Buutan!
